Go'in bike shopping

#1 Unread post by Randy95 »

Going out to look at bikes today with the wife.

She really wants me to get a Triumph Bonnieville.

Am really still not sure what I right now except a cruiser under 800 cc.
Will use primarily around town at this point.

Off and running

Bonneville's a great short and medium-distance bike. Extended interstate runs are a little uncomfortable, it depends on your individual tolerances. (80 mph wind blast on a naked standard is OK for 30 minutes, but gets old after an hour.)

Depends on the person, I can do 5+ hours on my naked standard.

That being said, the bonneville is a sweet looking little bike. I hope she finds something to fall in love with.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

17 liters at 20kmh give or take gives me a theoretical max range of 240km. Which is less then 2 hours at a go, however gas stops take at max of 5 minutes, so I subtract those from the 5 hours in the saddle.
