funny stuff

#1 Unread post by ninja79 »

So I'm coming out of the grocery store today, and some shady looking guy approached me and started telling me the story of how he found a helmet at a gas station and wants to sell it to me for $5. I said no. He continued on, this time uttering the most brilliant phrase: "it's not even stolen or anything". wow!!!

I'm at a fast food drive-thru order speaker the other day and a guy pulls up to me on the right and motions for me to open my window. I roll it down and he says "I have a funny question for you - would you like some speakers for free, there are two of them". I said, no that's OK. He goes on to tell me he accidently go too many. Huh? Then he asks, would I like to buy them for cheap. I thanked him, but one I did not need speakers, and two if a deal sounds too good, it is usually shady. When I pull to the window I tell the lady inside about these guys hitting me up and she says "I would have taken them". I thought to myself, most people probably would have. I hope that's wrong though. Sucks rasing kids in the world sometimes.

I'd be to paranoid about buying speakers from some dude off the street to ever do it.

Besides my speakers are better then his :D
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

wonder who's gonna buy all that stolen stuff
Someone surely will, you can count on that. The market for stolen stuff is what keeps thieves in business. If no one bought the stuff, no one would have an incentive to steal it.

I was walking into a blockbuster one time, and some girl stops me and asks me if I want to buy some cologne... She had some huge "O Ring" guy (probably her pimp) driving her around.

I told her I was allergic (which is probably true... I'm allergic to many cheap colognes, and I'm guessing that stuff was crap). I've had people try to sell me speakers a bunch of times too.

I'm always worried that it is a distraction tactic and another guy is going to jump out and rob me or something... so I probably look really paranoid as I'm looking around and moving my keys inbetween my knuckles in preparation...lol (have a nice big ford key that has a huge plastic base which fits perfectly in my palm). I think I scared a couple of those speaker goons away by doing that.
