Took a ride on a Road King today
My brother came over today with his Road King. He has been after me to give it a try. So I took it for a spin around the block: took it real easy.
WOW. I now understand the reasoning for starting with a smaller bike. The weight wasn't a bad as I thought it would be when cornering, but just a lot a power when you twist the throttle.

You may be thinking of the Road Glide. If so, I agree. Not my cup of tea.Heimdall Einherjar wrote:I must say they have the ugliest fairing out there.

Is that the one with the dual headlights, if so, that's the Harley of my choice if I ever were to get one. Well, maybe.DustyJacket wrote:You may be thinking of the Road Glide. If so, I agree. Not my cup of tea.Heimdall Einherjar wrote:I must say they have the ugliest fairing out there.

The road glide is not too bad looking, its the one with the frame mounted fairing.
the electra glides fairing looks stupid imho thats the bat wing looking fairing thats attached to the bars.
The road king is like a road glide but with no fairing at all and no top box.
pull the bags off the road king and slam it down a few inches and you have a dyna glide deluxe

Wellll... it's closer to an Electra-Glide, really. The Road King evolved from the FLHS which was a stripped down Electra-Glide with a large windshield instead of a fairing.jmillheiser wrote:The road king is like a road glide but with no fairing at all and no top box.
Nope, all you have then is a Road King without bags and a lowered suspension. And there's no such model as a Dyna Glide Deluxe. There's a Softail Deluxe, but it has a different frame and suspension and uses the TC88B counterbalanced motor, while the Road King has the TC88A rubber-mount. The Dyna series have totally different frames, front and rear suspension, wheel sizes and a few other bits but do share the TC88A motor with the rest of the FLH lineup.jmillheiser wrote:pull the bags off the road king and slam it down a few inches and you have a dyna glide deluxe

It isn't WHAT you ride,
It's THAT you ride
