I actually wish the pictures were still there. Even though it would be gory and nasty, they show what can happen.

I didn't see these pix...but I've seen plenty of them. I'm sure you've all seen the one where the guy has no face below the bridge of his nose. If memory serves me correctly, he ran his face into a girder that was protruding off the back of a flatbed truck while wearing a half helmet.

He literally had no face...no jaw...nothing...just his tongue hanging down...AND he was still alive...sitting up with IV's in his arm.

I often wondered if a Full Face would have mattered.

If anyone has those pics (even some of them) - I'll host them on my server so they'll stick around for peeps to see in the future.

Get in touch with me so I can give you my email to send the pics to. :righton:

With the re-emergence of naked bikes, one day soon, real men will be able to bring their motors out of the false shadows of molded plastic and show their motors to the world without fear of ridicule or shame.

How is it that the pictures disappear? Is someone so effing offended/disgusted that they're removed? The weather has been getting really nice in NY and I've seen many bikes out. Some riders I see in full gear, some riders I see in t-shirts, jeans and sneakers

At the same time I say, I've seen pictures just as bad of people in car accidents. When it's your day, it's your day.

Gear up EVERY TIME!!

Saturday morning 2 of my riding buddies show up for a 200+ mile ride. I rolled my ride out of the garage and I'm in full leather. The sun is shining and it is already in the 80's. Not a word was said with me being in my gear. I have kept my helmet from 15 years ago when I was in a crash on my Silver Wing Interstate. A girl turned in front of me and me and the bike slide 83 feet down the pavement. I had on a T-shirt and jeans. I had road rash on my left arm, hip and left leg. My helmet (half helmet) was split and I got a patch of road rash on my forehead and it scraped the left lens out of my glasses. The helmet was split open. I walked away but I will NEVER forget looking at the pavement as I was sliding and thinking how much this was going to hurt. I was VERY lucky!!!

Now when I ride I wear leather chaps, leather gloves and a leather coat. ROAD RASH HURTS!!!!! At highway speeds leather breaths very well and is very comfortable. Wear your gear!!!
