the ducati monster is a naked sportbike, it has no fairing but has an agressive riding position.

my CX500 is about as standard as a standard gets. Most UJMs fall into the category of standard.

the yamaha FJR1300 is called a sport tourer but is more like a fully faired standard

Well then isn't the Gold Wing just a big ungainly standard?

It's big and it's a standard, though it's not all that ungainly until you add 250 lbs. of plastic up high on the bike.

In ye days of old, I had a lot of fun ripping around on my friend's GL1000. It was naked as could be. Back then, a GL1000 was available as the base motorcycle. It didn't become a Goldwing until you added all the plastic.

The original GL1000 could almost be considered the original power cruiser. Though it had more power than most of the current crop of power cruisers. Handling would likely be comparable to a modern cruiser.
