Gonna try something different..

Someone once told me that you can never successfully critique anything unless you try it out yoursef. Soo on Friday of next week my blue 2005 Harley Sportster 883 Low Rider will be in my driveway. She has a comfortable 26 inch seat height, she is in my favorite color and it has only limited crome.

Hope the Germans appreciate me starting it up every morning at 0630... All she needs is a name - I was thinking "Stuka" which translates into "Dive Bomber"

Best part is that I only spent $8,000. All I need to do now is find a blue helmet with red accents so I wont look like a dork with a blue bike and a red gear...

good luck....what is or was your past ride? Good thing you are trying an 05 Sporters...compared to an 03 or older. Your avatar shows a couch on wheels...this bike might be a shock to the system...

My last bike was a 78 Honda 750K that was one cranky motorcycle to ride. Some mornings she would outright refuse to start without employing the kick starter - and forget about just starting and going. She had to warm up for at least 2 minutes before she was good and ready. Overall she was a good bike, all kinds of low end torque but no top end at all. Had my first drop with her - and my first front tire blowout at 55mph on a curve. It wasnt pretty but I didnt drop her on the blowout.

The avatar was of a 2005ish GW. That was my dream ride until I sat on one. I am soo short that I never got the think off its kickstand. Another ride I was checking out was the BMW 1200KL but yet again I am too short. As it is my 81 GW is a little too high for me but I manage. But I wont get to see her again until I get back to the states.

Hiya Pinger ... Welcome (belatedly) to europe!

If you want to take a break-in ride down to Naples you are welcome any time!

P.S. Italy has the Largest Harley Owners Group outside of the States... !

What's good about the 883 sportster is it's Unisex. That means if your girlfriend wants to ride it, she won't have any problems with it. Congrats on your Harley, it's an awesome bike.
