Awww, c'mon, Kal! If anyone wanted you dead they'd ask you to merge onto any American freeway with that 125!

There's this terrible part of me that rises to a challange even when I think it's a bad idea...

Although I would be up for running a 250 bike on a freeway... Purely in the interests of international co-operation and research you understand!

250 on a freeway is doable, 125 could be asking to be run over by an SUV. My 500 will pull on most cages even at 75+mph.

a literbike may rev slower than a 600 but even when its down at lower rpm it still puts out a TON more power than any 600 could ever dream of. a literbike can powerwheelie through several gears without touching its powerband, and top the ton in 1st gear. Those superbike racers have some SERIOUS skill to even keep one on the track.

Last fall I had the dubious honor of riding a couple of 250s on L.A. freeways. I have to admit, even though it was fun wringing all available power out of those little bikes, it was still kind of scary.

Interesting experiment? - Yes!

Something I'd want to do every day? - Not a chance!

Ah snap. 125? Merging?? Maybe if I were already on the highway but not merging. That's just asking to get run over. Besides you'd never even get in. No one would slow down that slow to let you in.

i have a question for everyone here.. where do u get your insurance.. i understand that its gonna be a bit pricey, but for me to go from a 500R at $48 a month for full coverage to a GSX-R600 at $350 a month is outrageous.. anyone?

Try Dairyland. They usually have good quotes.

Gotta call them though.

But yah you're going from a standard to a sport bike. A sportbike that has been dropped and claimed on by many a squid. A sportbike that's used for racing, is stolen a lot, and goes fast.

You're gonna pay a bit more.

oh yah, i understand paying more.. hell, even twice as much.. but not 7 times as much for a bike that only costs 3 grand more brand new.

Well, that's just how the insurance companies work.

What's your age? That affects the quote as well.

Progressive quoted me, a 19 year old male with one accident on my record, at $212 a month on an EX500, $467 a month on an SV650
