Have you been in an accident?

#1 Unread post by camthepyro »

How many of you have been in an accident? Be it minor with another vehicle, major with another vehicle, minor single vehicle, or major single vehicle. Oh, and please answer "no" if you haven't, I'm trying to get a rough idea off how many serious responsible bikers have been in accidents, because all the other studies I have found, have also taken into account the squids, etc., and I think for the most part, everyone on here is a responsible rider. So I want to see the how the statistics differ between the general biker population, and the responsible biker population. Thanks.

P.S., please don't put "yes" for dropping the bike, or something happening to your bike while you weren't on it, thanks.

Does a trip to the emergency room constitute a major accident? It involved me and another dirtbike. I got stiches and a wrist brace. He got a new brake lever...

Haha, yes, it does. And I forgot to put the damn "no" option in the poll, and now it won't let me edit it! Can a moderator go in their and add a "no" option?

nope...(knock on wood)...

I think this is a great idea for a thread...especially if the person can explain what happened...maybe we could all learn something...to store away in our own person harddrives....

i consider the accident i had a minor one. it was during a motorcycle safety course and i was being an idiot. broke all the rule for collision avoidance at once.

saw an object (pylon)
kept looking at the object
instead of braking, or swerving, or riding over it i ened up doing all three.

braked on top of it, tried to swerve while braking and ended up running it over.

all of this lead to no traction and a low side crash which gave me road rash on my elbow and knee as well as a seperated/dislocated shoulder....knocked the wind out of me and knocked some sense into me about wearing more than jeans and doing up my jacket correctly

Nope. No accidents either in my limited motorcycling experience or in nearly 1,000,000 miles in a cage.

Been riding since I was 17, I am now 26 and am accident free.

Unless you count the one time I was going about 3 mph down my dirt driveway and my front wheel slid out from under me. I just stepped off the bike with no damage to me or bike.
