tagging along?
tagging along?
There was 4 bikes riding in a group as I turned on the highway today. I wasn't sure if I should just let them go (which I did) or join them till my exit.

Unless they were hard core snobs or elitists , tagging along would have been purely acceptable .

I sometimes tag along with people for fun. However, I definitely give them more space than I do my friends... I wouldn't want some random person hopping in real close when I have no clue about his riding abilities.

Double your follow distance and watch to see if they wave you around. If they take off, you don't need to follow, they want to be left alone.
Other then that, I'll drop in behind someone.

Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Tagging along is usually ok as long as you are in formation. If they're riding staggered, get in the corresponding slot., unless they have a tail gunner running alone at the back of the pack. Then you should stay behind and on his right...

Riding home with hubby (two bikes) Sunday from VA, we picked up a 'tagalong' as we left Frederick, MD on I-70.
He was on a cruiser and just added himself behind us. He matched our stagger and even 'opened the door' when I signalled a lane change.
At first, I was a bit unnerved, but he proved to be no problem.
Some folks can get REALLY upset if you try to join on, so stay back for a bit and watch...

I usually tag along.
then I follow them home, and pull in thier driveway behind them. I give them hugs, then invite myself inside.

You're supposed to rev back, then you both sit there revving your engines until you both run out of gas. Then you wander over to the bar together and have a beer and a chat. Not awkward anymore is it?
