Countersteering is one of those things where who have two camps: one side is absolutely convinced that countersteering is the only way to steer a motorcycle and the other is just as convinced that it's all imaginary. Kinda like "Ford vs. Chevy" or "Emacs vs. vi".
Well, everyone knows that Vi is better.

to see countersteering in action at about 20kmph see the three pics on the (unofficial) TMW flickr page linked in my sig.

i think what this board needs is a good old fashioned which linux distro would your bike compare to thread which would be much more comical than the vi vs. emacs fight hehe

Great pics. Demonstrates it really well.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

It's quick but you have to rebuild it every time you want to add a feature?

emacs is 'better'... but I actually *use* vi (vim really)... LOL
Ride it like you think owning it matters.

My bike is Debian Sarge (stable). It is a bit old and out of date, but rock solid stable.

Well in fact it's both, round and flat, just like a pizza pie, where do you think those crazy Italians got the idea for them in the first place???

Mmmmmm... And if you ever get into Vancouver, look up "Flying Wedge Pizza" they're the best...

I laughed when I read the round and flat comment. Yeah, I see the point with the whole pizza thing. I was so blind.

Back to the Linux thing, my bike couldn't be compared to Linux, it would have to be a full blown Unix servers running HP-UX or Solaris. Or Irix even. Fast, barebones, not easy for a lot of people to understand, and based on the fastest early computers.
