Ok, I think MotoF150 is usually full of it too, but I do have to say that I HAVE SEEN proof that Honda and Yamaha have better QC than Suzuki and Kawasaki.

I've posted about this before - same model and year Zuks and Kawi's will Dyno a (roughly) 7% difference in power right out of the box. Honda and Yamaha typically have a variance of less than 2% between identical models. To be honest, Yamaha actually comes out on the top of the heap in this comparo. I do NOT have the hard proof to show you guys, It was done by a shop with a Dyno (To show exactly what we are arguing about now) so take that for what it's worth. Also, it was only a comparo between the Big 4 Japanese manufacturers, I have no idea how any other company stands up to such scrutiny.
I'm not saying some manufacturers aren't higher quality than others, I was saying that none of the big 5 are so low quality that they're going to fall apart on the road, which is what MotoF150 is leading people to believe.

Exactly. Well put. I was trying to think of how to simply state that same idea. The lowest quality Japanese bike is still better quality then some of the best Harleys from the AMF days.

I think all bikes are made in the same factory in Japan and have different stickers and fairings......

If money want an option, and I was to buy a new bike, I would most likely go with a Honda, I have yet to hear many complaints about them as the other manufactures.

But as I have said in another thread, any one can get a lemon from any company, it depends on how the robots or workers at the factory were feeling that day.

As far as manufacturer's I have also heard honda is a high quality company for the most part, and I had a honda car and it was great and built very well, much better than my current jeep. However I bought a suzuki, havent had any problems yet. Then again as far as individual MODELS go, I would avoid the suzuki LS 650 (also called savage 650 and S-40) because, well, like you wanted to know, it sucks. This is of course my opinion, but it has very low power, takes a long time to warm up, the pipes get hot enough to melt solid rock, the position sucks.... others have had this bike for a long time and loved it, my experiance was not the same and I changed bikes a month later.
I think the poster originally wanted the whole "dont drive a dodge neon or ford focus cause they break a lot and the quality isnt good and they are just poo poo" or "the dodge ram automatics seem to love to die around 60k miles" which are some that I have heard myself, not saying they are true.
Some might say that for everyday commuting and just general riding that supersports suck cause of the riding position and not REALLY being able to use the power. Some might say that the standard/sportbikes suck because they dont have the power to keep up with the supersports. some might say that anything other than a harley sucks cause thats what their toothless rough edged buddies all saw in the garage of the guy that let them drink at his house when they were 12..... some might say that ducatis suck because of the supposed maintanance. some might say BMW's suck because they are pretty droll looking and fairly uncool for the younger types. some might say that hondas suck cause they are not up to par with the exact performance numbers of some of their competitors.
But others say..... supersports are great for commuting, how many other bikes can you not bother to shift all day long?....standard/sports are great at everything instead of being so specialized for speed, that harleys offer a comfortable ride and have a great image, ducatis handle better than almost anything else out there and the maintanance can be done easily and cheeply outside the dealership, bmw's last longer than you and are great smooth bikes designed and built as well as the cars, hondas are better for most street riders cause that tiny performance edge wont matter in 99.999999999999% of your life on a bike.
so.... yes and no. enjoy
