I don't have problems with Harleys/riders, except:
The bikes are overpriced for what they are. But that's a H-D issue, not the riders'. If people are willing to pay, what the hey...
A fair majority seem to have one goal: Make as much noise as possible, and wake me up in the middle of the night doing it.

Wellllll, that's true to a certain extent. You won't find me carrying purses or wearing pink chaps anytime soon.Motofiend wrote:"harley is reaching out to new markets, thats why they bought Buell and created the VRSC bikes They are also doing tons and tons and tons of marketing toward women."
AND where women go Men will follow
As far as Harleys go, they have plenty of following with their merchandising. No motorcycle manufacture even come close to touching Harley in merchandising. You have to create a repoire in order to accomplish what Harley is doing now with their merchandising sales. This alone account for 30-35% of total revenue of my friend's Harley shop here in Minnesota.
Re. Buell and the NightRod development. IMHO, HD needs to pump up the Buell nameplate. It's a sorry presentation of Buells with most Harley shops I've been to. I don't know if it's a cultural clash, but Buells are tremendously under represented at Harley shops. That VSRx tho is a piece of work. They need to go with that strategy. It really is a work of beauty. If I could just afford one, I'd be all over it.

I have an idea Harley will go with a touring Revo at some point.

Check this out from above LINK.
"Since the release of the V-Rod, Butch believed that there is a market for a liquid cooled touring bike from H-D. The fact that there are aftermarket companies building conversion kits for the bike seems to back that theory. His current bike is a 2001 Road Glide, so it was all too natural of a match for the guy was out to prove to the brass at Harley that it's time to expand on the liquid cooled revolution platform."
