I'll settle for running right now. If it runs well, and is better then the Seca, the grand plan is to turn it into the daily driver. shine it up. I do like the riding position of it.
Side note - I went into the Yamaha dealership today to order parts.... (I know, I said I wouldnt go back, but apperently, thats the only place to get the parts I need) I had a walk around and saw a few Vstar Customs.... man, they look sweet... and the MSRP aint half bad....
A friend of mine has a V-Star 650 Silverado. NICE! And, he loves it. For the same price as I paid for my S50 but, mine was plain and his came with a windshield, running boards, saddle bags and a sissy bar. I don't think you'd go wrong with one of those.
I now have a running all pieces on Yamaha XS 400....
all the parts came in, I put them on and with the exception of some slight grinsing of the chain on the front sprocket (just a little, prolly just needs some adjustment with the new chain and sprocket and what not... but it works!!!!!

Well, took the bike out for a spin today, put about 30 KM's on it, but had to cut it a bit short, a few mechanical reasons and the weather break has about ended by the looks of the evil thunderheads up above.
Mechanical reason 1- Front brakes are good! I went over to a friend from works to show him my bike, I arive to a group on his driveway sitting at a patio set, I drive up and when I apply the front brakes, i get nothing, after hitting the rears, and accidently twisting the throtle up (by tommorrow I'll have almost run over everyone there *L) I got it stopped and had a sit and a pepsi. I then went home, and added some brake fluid, which didnt help, so I then bled out the front brake lines, Which I have never done before until today. I now have front brakes again! w00t and what not
Mechanical reason #2 - the little linkage between the shifter pedal and the shifter mechanism has a little double ended screw to attach the two togther, twist it on, and it draws the peddle to the hight you want. it keeps unscrwing itself and Im left with a floppy gear shift peddle....not cool, but I think a bit of Loc Tite will fix that...
All in all, a short but fun little ride... I found a little bit of twisty road, fun I tells ya, long rolling turns and few shorts.... I likes it.
