San Francisco biker friendly? The people may be, but if you've ever been there, you know it would be hell to ride in.

uhm, i have been there, and i've ridden there, and it is the best bike city i've ever ridden in. If you have any doubt, just go to the financial disctrict on a weekday, and tell me how many bikes you see parked on each block....

Where do you get your information? Its terribly wrong..

are you sure you're not thinking of new york? Laughing
Well, I've only been there once or twice, and all I can remember are steep hills, steep hills, and more steep hills. Down near the bay it seemed to flatten out some but from the bay up to the top of the hills, it's just: go up steep hill. Stop. Go up steep hill. Stop. And so on and so forth.

I admit, I could be wrong, the whole city may not be like that, but that's all I remember.

I've never been to San Fran. I would imagine those trolly tracks are dangerous for bikes.
