I've never ridden a bike yet, still gathering up all my information and money to afford the MSF first. But i'm scared to go to it. Lol.

I had never even sat on a motorcycle before taking the MSF course. Not as a passenger, not even in a showroom. But I took the course and learned a ton. Money well spent.

I'm a 5'6", 135# female. I chose to go used for my first bike, and as they all say, I have laid mine down a few times already (I've had it about 6 weeks). Every time I've dropped it, I've been going less than 1-2 miles per hour. Once you get rolling, the gyro-effect makes life a lot easier! No damage has occurred to the bike, not even a scratch, but I'd be in tears if I had done that to a brand new bike.

My bike is a 1995 Yamaha Virago 750. It's a standard style bike, dark hunter green with plenty of chrome. It's perfect. I found it with 23K miles, for $2200. I've added a windshield, and can carry plenty by strapping a duffel bag onto the passenger seat (there is already a great sissy bar on there, and I don't plan on taking a passenger for a LONG time). Either that, or I just carry a messenger bag. I wear a bright Joe Rocket jacket, boots, gloves and a full face helmet. Oh, and jeans too! I think I'm going to get some draggin jeans, but I worry about buying clothes online, especially pants (you know how us girls are about how our butts look in jeans. Has to be just right...)

Good luck to those of you who plan to take the MSF Course and pursuing your dream of riding. It is great fun and I'm loving every minute of it!
