Dunno if it is typical or not. I called on April 3rd, gave them my CC# over the phone, was in the classroom April 6th, on the range April 8th and finished April 15th. I think I had my paper C-M1 license on the 25th, and my replacement photo license not much later. Call it 1 month start to finish.

There were open bikes on both range days. The first day had two people who just showed up and asked to be added (they were on a "list" of students who had passed the classroom portion) and they were asking the instructor where they could do the same thing for day 2 that sunday... they weren't there the next week, but one or two new people were... and there were more bikes open than were used.

Maybe your timing was bad somehow.

I'll give them a call and see what they offer for impatient folks like me. Man I'm willing to drive an hour away just so I can take it earlier but yeah i guess it's just bad timing for me. Everyone seems to want a motorcycle now...

yeah what suxors about it is most just want to save gas and not get one for "joyous" riding lol. I want it for having fun on and to save gas

. hmm 20mpg min van or drive my 40mpg ducati (dreaming right now as I want a ducati but am waiting until I finish the safety course lol).

for some reason in the future I see moto accidents increasing because people arent getting the proper training and understanding in how a moto works when driving one.

In SW Michigan, courses for Kent, Kalamazoo, and St. Joseph counties (all counties within a reasonable distance) all filled up through July.

I couldn't take it so I just went to a private testing facility to take my riding test. Oc course I'd still like to followup with the MSF cause i get like $400 off on my insurance.

hypocrite.

if you truly just wanted to save gas you would not be interested in a ducati, or any bike that gets 40mpg for that matter.

hypocrite. if you truly just wanted to save gas you would not be interested in a ducati, or any bike that gets 40mpg for that matter.

lol yeah well 40mpg is better than 20mpg that my van gets

. I never said it was just for gas savings lol. I was talking to the dealership and they said the bike I am looking at gets 55mpg avg not 40. He said the 50 is for the model below the one I am looking at. I finally sat on the the 620 and I feel it fits me well. not to big and not to small. looked at the 1000ds and man that thing is just friggen way to huge for me.

Yeah the lists are crazy long. I booked mine a few weeks ago for June 9, but its at this college really far away, and I have to be there by 8am. On the Sunday I'll need to take a taxi there ($20). This course is also 4 hours longer than the other courses being offered (8-6 rather than 8-4). Thats balls, but all the local courses were booked through the end of July (probably into next year by now). At least I'm in though

Try these people. They run courses up in the Newark area and have mid-week classes that are much easier to get into than the weekend classes.

well I found out the main reason people are taking the MSF course here in michigan and filling them up is because michigan is changing the helmet law that states if you dont want to wear a helmet you have to have been riding for 2 years and/or taken a safety course. wtf I wouldnt ride 2 feet without a helmet on on a 4 wheeler no way in hell am I not going to wear a helmet out on the street that is so much more unpredictable.
