Any one of us could be riding a dropped bike. Some bikes sit in warehouses or on showroom floors for a year or more before being purchased, and all sorts of things can happen when the dealership folks roll the bikes in and out all the time. I do admit it would bug me to no end that I knew my new bike had been dropped, but after seeing what kind of beating dirt bikes and ATV's can handle and come out without frame or fork damage, I'm sure your bike would have had to be dropped off the top of the truck before suffering anything more than superficial damage.

I would follow the earlier suggestion and simply demand a free extended warranty. No biggie.

Sorry to hear about your troubles, but I agree with everyone who has said this is an honest dealership for telling you they dropped the bike. Don't worry about it, they'll fix everything up.

I agree with the others, big points for the dealership for telling you.

Look at it this way, rumor has it you'll drop your bike at least once, maybe the dealer did it for you.

I've dropped each of my bikes once, with the worst damage being a slightly loose turn signal which I haven't bothered to repair yet. Damage is usually very, very minor from such instances.

well... i apreciate, that they told me about the drop, that really could mean, they're honest.

they said, they'd tipped it over from a trailer. but it had to be really big impact to bend the handlebar, everyone from my biking budies told me, it ain't easy to bend them. i don't worry at all about some cosmetic stuff, i'm sure, they fix them all. but with this kind of impact, i, as a newbie, will never notice, if there is some damage to fork or frame geometry, which could easily happen, with big impact. this is not a light dirtbike, but relativly heavy, even for sportbikes. it's kawi z750s.

and when i signed, i already signed for extended warranty and i've got all my leathers, helmet, boots, etc. somewhere else.

Well, all that's left then is to actually take delivery. So, I suppose you could refuse to and demand a different bike if you're that concerned about it. I don't think the dealership could put up much of a fuss since they admitted dropping it.

Sounds like you're really turned off by this so maybe you should walk away from the deal and get something else somewhere else for your own peace of mind. Remember though, you've already signed finanace papers so you'll have to get all that stuff taken care of first so you have the credit to get another bike. Keep that lil nugget o' knowledge handy.

refuse it!! no way! a brand new bike that has been dropped?forget it.
they should have competent people moving bikes around.if not let them take the hit for it being dropped.as you stated being a newby you might not be able to tell if something is wrong with it.

Go in and talk to them.

They might be willing to just bring in a whole new one for you. In a different color if necessary. Then again, go look at it, and decide if you really don't want it. I've found that just owning the bike can make a big difference.

oh, 'n i'm going there in a while, they called some hours ago, that bike is ready. again ;o)
