I wouldnt sacrifice size and comfort, and it may be that it just needs time to form up to your face?

Could also be the fabric, something you are having a reaction to. It could be the heat yes but why didnt you break out years ago?

I sure do not know. My last helmet was 8 years old and I never had any problem. I hate to say it but I'm getting older and maybe my body is changing in some respect.

I had a friend who was kicked out of the Air Force because he was allergic to latex - they use latex in the glue that holds the soles of the combat boots onto the leather. They made his feet break out and he had difficulty walking - But the Air force refused to let him wear sneakers or something like that. They gave him 10% disability (for the rest of his life) and kicked him out. Lucky Punk.

Long story short, Might want to get some allergy tests done - or at least see a dermatologist - take the helmet with you.

Or it could just be that the heat and friction from the fabric is aggravating something else. Recently change shampoos or soaps? Do you use a new face conditioner or something?

x2 with the dermatologist. Probably cheaper than buying a new helmet!

I ordered the Nolan 42, with the flip shade this morning. Hopefully it will fit correctly. I hate ordering and not having one to try on. But I went to 4 different shops and no one carried the Nolan.

Thanks for everyones help.

The only thing a bigger helmet will do is put you at risk for more injury. I agree about the fungus/bacteria buildup. Just because it's new doesn't mean it isn't colonised. Try a new liner.

Well I have not reveived my new helmet yet but when looking, I discovered a few things. Yes you want a helmet that fits, but every manufacturer size is different. What I discovered about my current helmet is that my head is round and fits the helmet great, but my face is fat and oblong and does not fit that great. My current helmet is a XXL, when checking other helmets I went to a L or M. The helmet that I ordered is just inside the size for a M. At first we thought I would be a S.
As I said, I really believe it is the heat and the way the helmet fits my face, kiinda puckers my cheeks out if you know what I mean.

As I was writing this I got a call and my new helmet is in. I will pick it up tomorrow and maybe give a review if anyone is intrested.
