Not sure about the mileage, but I rode from San Francisco to Phoenix via the interstates (5 and 10). I was unlucky enough to hit L.A. at rush hour on an overloaded, top heavy bike with limited visibility in the mirrors. Never want to do that again.
I recall the trip took about 16 hrs total and I got home at around 2 AM. The vibration from the 750 twin made my right wrist go numb a few hundred miles from home, so I had to use the my left hand to twist the thottle. Not something I'd recommend, but it wasn't too dangerous on a lightly populated interstate.

my longest ride so far has been 100mi. If I were going to put down any serious distance I would need a better bike. My CX500 gets rather vibey at 75mph
My feet were numb enough after that I could not feel the shifter or brake pedal, hands weren't as bad but a bit shaky from the bar vibration

They never did import them in to the States but there were lots in Canada ('83-'84). I had both the 500 and 650 and it felt like the 650 had 50% more power and handled twice as good. It was a great touring bike and I wouldn't mind having one today as a project. There IS one in the paper this morning......

I really liked the turbo version. Aside from the Kaw 750 turbo, the Honda CX was the only other mid 80s turbo bike that was actually functional and reliable. It was the best of both worlds. Great low end power from the V-twin, then a neck-jerking boost on the open road.
I wouldn't mind having one today, but I imagine that parts availablity would be a problem after 20yrs. They didn't make that many to begin with.

My longest ride so far has been about 13 hours. There was a couple of meal stops and a couple of photo stops there and back. I think we did about 400 miles.
