Let you know how good it is tommorrow p/u the new xb12ss tomorrow I test rode a city x and xb12r, I can say what I got out of it is they are not going to keep up with the rockets in the straights but they own and I mean OWN the corners I have been riding a long time and they really handle well. Lets face reality we do 70 in a 30 on a twisty alot more than 140 on a slab at least everyone I ride with does.
there aint nothin like it

I tested the Ulyssess XB12X a few months back and I have to say I was very temped to get one. I enjoyed the V-Twin torque quite a bit. Maybe someday I'll get one.

The XB9 I rode cornered great but the suspension needed sorted to handle any mid-corner bumps. I would love to ride the XB12 but the biggest thing that Buell has to improve is to get more over-rev out of the engine. I am used to riding sport-twins but I found myself hitting the rev-limiter all the time. I'd still like to have one in the garage but I can't help but think that there has to be a better engine coming.

you can adjust the suspension is many different places on the Buells... you probably tested it with the stock settings which can be awful depending on your weight and how you ride. You should have tested the XB12... you wouldn't have touched the rev limiter.

Doesn't it have an even lower rev-limit?earwig wrote:you can adjust the suspension is many different places on the Buells... you probably tested it with the stock settings which can be awful depending on your weight and how you ride. I ride a twin for the torque, but I like to have the ability to rev it out. Even though the Buell is all about torque it doesn't have enough rev-range for my liking and the powerband actually feels narrower than on a high-performance 4 cylinder bike. It has lots of power down low, but right when you are looking for the midrange you shake hands with the rev-limiter. The My VTR will pull from 1500rpm and will continue to do so until 9500rpm. It also suffers from no lack of torque. Buell needs a twin that can rev!earwig wrote:I'm not sure how you ride... but with the extra torque and HP I don't see how you would be bouncing off of the limit unless you are pulling the front wheel up in 1st-3rd.

Don't get me wrong though, if the right deal come around there could be one in the garage.....
