i see, i should build strength instead of worrying about weight.
at any rate, i need to find a new work out since i've quit basketball and i've quit martial arts.
im doing push ups and crunches everyday but that's about it.

It certainly wouldn't hurt to take in some more calories, but as Zoo mentioned, keep it lean. Lots of very thin people die from high cholesterol, so avoid the convenience foods. Stay active to build strength, and eat lots of fresh, whole foods with maybe some added attention to protein and iron. Fats are good - just avoid heavily saturated fats and partially hydrogenated oils (I'm serious here - the stuff is nasty).
You can try taking bike rides that end up near nature preserves or the like, and do some hiking. Eat a protein bar, drink a juice, and ride on.
Another thing is this - if you're feeling well and strong and are typically happy with yourself, then maybe it's just the weight at which you're supposed to be. But if you think it would be better with some more weight, then work on it in a healthy way. For some sound advice, buy the book Smart Medicine for Healthier Living. It's a complete guide to all sorts of health issues. Good luck!
Cheers,
Loonette

Enjoy your thinness. Everyone who give you a hard time can mind their own business.
Eat healthy, stay healthy. Do you know how many people around the world would like to be thin? Plenty. Count your blessings.
I once worked with a guy who was also very skinny. He got nicknamed Arnold because he tried so hard to gain weight and muscle with protein drinks and so called weight gain potions. None of it worked. He finally accepted that his weight was where it was supposed to be.
If you have lost weight since you started riding, it's more than likely it's because you forget to eat when you are out. I have a bad habit of forgetting to drink enough water when I'm out for along ride and then end up getting dehydrated.
You might have to make sure to stop an extra time or two for a snack. Even if it as Loonette suggested by carrying some energy or meal replacement bars with you.

Be skinny and proud, Verm. I'm a fraction under six foot and weigh 10st 5lbs (which is 145lbs in your peculiar way of reckoning things
)
I eat like a horse and have done for 30 years. I don't get an ounce heavier. Like Buzz, I'm pretty strong for my size, so I content myself with that. Fortunately the only comments I get about my size come from elderly women who want to feed me up. I've never asked what for.
How much muscle mass you can develop depends, in part, on the number of muscle fibres your mum and dad bequeathed to you in their genes. Just concentrate on getting fit and don't worry about what you look like. I've found that wearing bike gear (minus cape - ahem!) and allowing the armouring to bend you into a gorilla pose can get you a degree more respect from some people - though, I guess it could be a liability with others
.
How old are you, Verm? Depending on your age you may need to take care about using some protein supplements. Some of the essential amino acids that you find in some of these products also act as growth hormones. Young guys who take them sometimes end up with unnaturally long fingers and toes. I've seen photos of this and it does not look nice.

According to the page you linked I only weigh 7 lbs more than I should . Which is a far cry from the days when my friends use to tell me that it was getting easier to step over me than to go around me .
However , the way I look at it is that any weight that I am out side the urn is the ideal weight for me .
Regards, Wizzard
Oh and btw , instead of concerning your self about losing weight , consider losing all the insignificant things you worry about instead .
