Poutine is french fries covered in mozza or cheese curds with hot gravy poured on top.

Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Now why did you have to go and make it political.

You can call them "French Fries" if you want to. It won't hurt my feelings. Hell you can even call 'em chips.

I may or may not agree with the French, but I'm not going to bring it into my potato products.

It can be strangely addictive, but it is an acquired taste. I still prefer regular fries and gravy myself.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.
