but I noticed the guys on the crotch rockets are not looking at my bike they are looking me face to face, in the eye, eyeball to eyeball, all I do is I shake my head no, I hope you guys understand that. Another thing I always notice about you crotch rocket guys is when ur stopped at a red light you guys always have your left hand on your hip, is your back and hip hurting cause of that leaned over riding postion?

Funny, most of us "crotch rocket guys" keep one hand on the clutch. And it's not our right hand.

awe peoples feelings are getting hurt.

but on a related matter today while i was driving to work. i had a situation and wanted to know what u guys thought. i was in the left lane (2 lanes) close to the white dotted or center of the road. and a rider was behind me staggerd. ( i prefer ridding close to the white dotted line no matter right or left lane. but my left turn was coming up so i needed to be on the left side of the lane instead of the right.

my question is how would you let the other rider that is behind you stagered know you need to change your lane position? i just threw my hand down for a few seconds and switched then he switched as well so it seemed to work out fine but just curious

if their hands are on their hips its cause they have popped into neutral and are simply sitting up for a min or too. and it is kinda lame to see generalizations about riders, especailly from a fellow rider

Thanks for the variety of input on the subject....distilling things out I think I will hold my line and ease to the right as the pass is being made, MAYBE on a straight road with a wide lane and a stream of oncoming traffic I would move right ease off a tad and wave guys through - especially if they are group riding..

...as for the crotch rocket guys..I am as happy looking at their rear wheel as they are showing it...each to his own..

I am loving the generalisations, please keep them coming however inacurate they are.
For the record I do not ride a "crotch rocket".

I Have never seen any crotch rocket riding with the traffic flow, going the speed limit, if im riding my bike at 75 mph behind a line of cars going with the traffic flow you guys don't need to pass me, you do pass me cause you don't wanta be seen riding with me, it don't bother me if you guys ride next to me, I just worry about some of you guys riding a crotch rocket that you have to pass and get away from me and you pass with dangerous road conditions, and if you wreck and kill yourself I kinda feel responsible cause the only reason you passed and speed up is because I was there. I didn't mean to make a generalization, sorry if you guys took it that way, Im just worried about you guys.

In a car, when I see I a bike behind me I always edge over to one side of the lane (I normally drive in the middle) to give plenty of room for them to pass. Which side depends on where the bike is and what'll give them the most room. Years ago, 99% of bikers knew what I was doing and would pass me, either splitting the lanes or in my lane. And they'd wave as they passed. Recently (last five years), they've started hovering on my rear end waiting for an opening to go into the other lane and pass like a damned car. Totally stupid... the last thing I want is to have to watch out for a tailgating biker if an emergency comes up. Pass (in my lane if you must) or back off!

I don't see any reason to change this policy when I'm on a bike. I'll happily share my lane with a bike if it is actually passing me... I won't be happy if they cluster around me or hover next to me.
