I haven't darkened Cycle Works doorstep in many years.

They may be better now since they moved buildings, but they used to be arrogant, pushy, expensive and did what could only be called shitty work. At the time, they were about the only place in town that did machine work on bikes, but they ain't no more. And I won't be giving them the chance to redeem themselves. I really got a hate on for Cycle Jerks. And I got a buddy that works(ed?) there......

Thanks Buzz! Heard anything bout Blackfoot Motosports in Calgary? They're pretty big from what I've heard...just curious bout the service. Who has a good service rep in Edm? Sales is one thing, but if you get gouged on service that's even worse.

All I've ever heard about Blackfoot is from our Calgary contingent, mostly that they sell lots of bikes and don't/won't work too hard for your bussiness. I'm sure someone from Cowtown will chime in here......

Service in Edmonchuck.... can't really speak to that either, I do all my own work. Easier to find the guy who screwed up and kick his azz that way.

your azz must hurt a lot then?
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Sometimes it does indeed hurt, Skooter. Sometimes it's not just from old age, either.....

But I seem to remember some fool couldn't get his bolt out to mount a saddlebag frame..... who was that again?

That would be me.

I seem to recall some fool who managed to get it off anyways. Turns out double wrenching>locktite. I'm learning, doing more on my bike every day. Tomorrow I attempt to install a windscreen (maybe, if I'm not out riding instead).

I bought a www.powerballs.com cheaper version of these, it's a surprising workout. So my arms are getting slightly less twig-like.

You calling your Uncle a fool? Cause it was him I think you claimed came over and got that thing out for you.

Double wrenching is your friend. Just be careful they don't slip. Guys with our build can't afford to lose that much blood.

He showed me how, then let me do the other three. So I consider myself to be 3/4 of a fool?

Blackfoot is the price-point masters of bike sales. They have low advertised prices that you can add a grand on to before you walk in to the place. They pissed in my corn-flakes back in '93 so I really should have gotten over that by now.... :P They have a hellova lotta bikes as well as accessories so it really is worth a trip down there at least to see it. Have a look at www.blackfootmotorsports.com
