I imagine I'd have to rotate the brake,clutch, and resivour in the opposite direction to flatten them out.

Some bars have recesses pressed-in where the levers and whatnot attach which would keep them from rotating. However, it won't hurt anything to try. If it doesn't work out, shop around for some bars that work better for ya.

As far as the handlebars go, try simply sitting back further in the seat, like sit how you normally do, then scoot your butt back. That will give more room for the handlebars. And the shifter, I don't really know about your bike, but on mine, I keep my foot on the edge of the peg, and just move it over to shift.

My second street bike, a Rebel 450, was the same way. I'm 6' with a 32 inch inseam... I was always having to ride funny at low speeds. I finally swapped the buckhorn style bars for drag bars... made a vast improvement on the riding position and it got rid of the knee problem. Then I gave up and sold it for a bigger bike.

hahaha Even MY knees get in the way when I turn the bars the whole way on my 750 shadow and I'm only about 5'6" or so. Good luck!
Oh! Just get some ape hangers! lol, that would solve your problem plus they are SOOOO COOL hehehehe .... I would love to see their popularity increase in the bike population; heck, even throw 'em on the hood of your car like trendy people do with antlers

ANYway.. if you have seen them then your sarcasmometer should be beeping rapidly at my use of 'trendy' and 'cool'.

My POINT is that if he got ape hanger handle bars then his knees woudnt get in the way when turning. The only reason I went off on that silly tangent is because:
1. I said 'I want to see more ape hangers in the bike populations' and thats a dumb thing to say because what other population would they increase in? Well.. maybe in the car population as these hood ornaments.. can't you see the resemblance?
2. I'm studying for exams and would rather write silly mindless comments here than study neuroendocrinology I am a Master Procrastinator
