Anyway he missed a crucial point which is that the device would have a central metal bar which would go through the bike at some part, and the bar would be far more durable than a standard chain.

Yes but not all bikes are created the same. To find a central location on all bikes for it to go through would be difficult if not impossible.
I mean not even the spokes are equidistant on the bikes, though it would be a good location.
But still this idea would only work in one spot. It wouldn't do much to prevent someone from stealing it at your place of work, the grocery store, etc.
It needs to be something transportable, like a chain (which can be cut) or a disc lock (the motorcycle can simply be lifted then).
And I highly doubt anyone on this forum was looking to steal your idea in the first place. Just put out a caveat if you're that worried about it.

An electronic immobilizer is the only thing that will deter theives. The best way to see that is to push that it be a mandatory feature from the manufacturers.
