I'm already going May 17th-20th for SEVROC (South East Vulcan Riders and Owners Club). Deal's Gap and Maggie Valley play host to dozens of such events each year, so there's no reason why TMW shouldn't get an annual thing together, too.

Another option would be the annual ROTR (Ride On The Ridge) on the Blue Ridge Parkway from Northwest North Carolina through Virginia. This year's ROTR is the same week as SEVROC, so I had to pick one.

When is this ROTR, and how do I get information on it? That's relatively close to me, so I can most likely go.

Were having a get together next weekend at Deal's Gap for the Hayabusa board. People are coming from as far west as Oklahoma and Kansas, others from New York, and some up from Florida. There is suppose to be a total somewhere around 100 bikes.

It can be done.

Yuns otta go for a ride around that area, yunzs never will see more beautiful country, nice people, no traffic, laid back, easy going, living on deer meat and trout eating kinda people.

that would be about a 3 day trip for me. would be a hike for those on the left coast and BC.

If I had a bike suitable for touring and sufficient time I would be up for it.

i live in knoxville TN so i'd be game. uh... i dont really have a bike yet tho... i will be getting one soon and hopefully learning to ride well enough to handle the dragon. but if worse comes to worse, i have a shiny blue truck (think chase vehicle with picnic food) that i could drive. and i think a moment of silence for Verm and his stolen bike would be a good idea.
i'll keep watching this thread for updates.

PS: the dragon is supposed to be one of the top 5 motorcycle roads in the world according to some people. i have ridden it in a car and it is very twisty, but i havent traveled the world to know if its the best. it could be worth the trip for some people who are a little ways away.

Edit: we need to get some ladies to go too. someone has to talk my sweet-honey-baby into riding with me.

Frank, where are you from?

Yea I dont really know where to go. The gap would be nice, but I dont know if its somewhere a lot of people could get to easily. I know its pretty far for me. I sure hope i have my 1200 Bandit by then :)

On a smaller scale I'd always be up to meet somewhere within a 200-300 mile radius of Philthadelhia. Or if anyone wants to ride in the eastern PA area I'd do that too. I wouldnt mind organizing something like that.

I'll be "Doing the Dragon" on my birthday!

Granted....I'll be following a bunch of Mini Coopers but still..... :)

May 5th weekend there's a meeting of Mini Cooper drivers at Fontana Village and they've got a couple of Dragon Runs scheduled. I'm tagging along as a friend of mine is coming down from Pittsburgh in his Mini so it should be a lot of fun!
