Well, that didn't help, still I'm offering my apology for assuming.

Around here we have the standard "Tank top/sandals/gym shorts nearly always on a sportbike" people. Sometimes they wear helmets.....

I have to say, I'm one who always wears the leather jacket/gloves/at least jeans, but sometimes I don't wear my full face helmet.

What does that make me?

No urine-flavored Cheerios here. Just think it's funny how many times I've been called intolerant on this site only to watch non-stop bashing of anyone and everyone who even thinks about venturing out without the official TMW standard gear. It's why I'm a Christian that doesn't attend church. I can't stand hypocrisy.

I know you just thought it was funny, but you went out of your way to create an entire thread just to point out the fact that this guy wasn't wearing what you think is proper. Hope you don't mind the next time someone questions a decision you've made (like riding motorcycles).

An individual, just like Mister Flip-Flop Man.

"Official TMW standard gear"... let's see, that would be a helmet, gloves, boots, jacket, pants and, oh yes - brains. Not seeing what the Christian reference has to do with any of this, but the hypocrisy part was hilarious! Look in a mirror, Zoomie, look in a mirror.
:LOL2:

Yeah, I mean it's not like YOU have ever gone out of your way to create an entire thread about something YOU thought wasn't proper, right? Oh, wait, yes you have... many, many times. Well, at least you continue to amuse.

Ahhh, Gummi, my favorite TMW member! I see you haven't lost your talent for missing the point and coming after me. I'm flattered.

Spend just five minutes browsing the Soap Box and it will become clear that a good 90% of the folks here are liberal in their thinking. "It's their body", "It's their right to choose", and "It's nobody's business" are just a few of the things you'll hear while reading through those threads. However, God forbid someone spots a motorcyclist who's missing even one of the aforementioned items, because that would necessitate the creation of an entire thread (there are dozens of them every week) for everyone to join in with the name calling (i.e. squids) or other judgemental behavior.

It's just a double-standard, Gummi. Now, have fun twisting this all around like you do, and don't forget to add some witty quip at the end about how you find me entertaining or whatever. It's good stuff. Like, Dave Chappelle caliber material.

This is a forum chiefly populated by riders who wear the gear and basically obey the law. Not only that but we're entitled to our opinions. And we're allowed to point out stuff we think is funny.

By way of example, last year I saw a guy on a vstar 600, in full gear, full face helmet, leather jacket, chaps, heavy boots.

His girlfriend was on the back, in... a skull cap, tanktop, shorts and sandles. Doesn't the dichotomy at least bring a smirk to your lips? At all... I mean him wearing all that stuff up top and flip flops on his feet is like putting on a leather welders jacket, and newspaper pants to start torch cutting.

It's funny. Relax.

It's a 2-way street. Everyone could have let my comment slide. It's all been said before.

Funny is relative I guess. I have a different sense of humor. If I saw that I'd probably just think the girl must not be feeling all that important to him at that particular moment. You'll never catch me with more gear on than my passenger. I've given girls my jacket, gloves, and even sunglasses and rode around with just a t-shirt and prescription specs.

Yeah, you're right. Not gonna argue. It just wears on ya after a while, that's all. Most of these threads describe me during a typical motorcycle outing.

That the humor of the situation though. Well part of it, I mean it's possible she refused to wear gear because she trusted him, or just wanted to look pretty. But everyone I've ever taken for a ride has been better geared then I have, and I cover up pretty good now.

I wouldn't have it any other way either. I know the risks and I'm willing to deal with the consequences of my actions, but I would feel REALLY bad if someone I took for a ride got hurt for any reason, and I walked out of it okay.
