It would be rather inconvenient to put on a prosthetic foot every day too.
Convenience... Real easy to take that thing off your head once you get where you're going.
It would be just as easy to take the boots off as well.
My criteria for boots is.
Easy enough to put on and take off that I'll do it.
The gear that'll protect you best is the gear that you will wear. Every time.
If it's too much of a PITA to don and you skip it, it won't do you any good.
My boots are not the best, but they don't look like a mugged a power ranger to get em, and they fasten with velcro so they go on and off easy and so I wear them.
My boots take as long to put on as a pair of sneakers.
I wear my boots every time, same as helmet, jacket etc.
My boots are no more a PITA than anything else I put on to ride.
My boots look like I mugged a power ranger but I am wearing a helmet for gods sake! That looks a little odd too.
My boots use no velcro, just a zipper and a ratchet system and are as easy to put on as my previous pair that used velcro but the difference is that these will last a lot longer.
You can justify it however you want, but if you think your hands or arms are more important than your legs and feet just say so.
