Don't forget that backwards baseball caps are more effective than forward facing ones.
Earwing I notice you've posted Schott a lot. Are they really that good? I've never heard of them before but they look good and aren't too expensive. I tried to find a store near me but there aren't any.
And yah I'd go with Alpinestars, they seem to be the best bang for the buck.

I don't have their Leathers but I have a pair of Hein-Gericke Winter gloves and a pair of their Denim bike jeans with the CE inserts.
Value wise not too bad. Quality cannot complain, I put the bike down in January iirc and I was wearing the gear at the time - stood up to it nicely.
Most gutted that they are not issuing a catalogue this year.
(Some guys have the Victoria Secrets/Ann Summers catalogue in the bathroom, I have the Hein Gericke Catalogue - maybe I need help)

I was leaning in the Hein-Gericke direction.
My gear is Hein-Gericke. It's well-made and has plenty of pockets for storing things and good ventilation with the vents open. No crashes, so I can't comment on how well it holds up.
