hey guys,
well i am turning 19 in two months and just went out and bought a CBR600F2, beutifull bike i might add! Everyone told me that i should start off with a 500 but i went against them. I personally think that i am mature enough to drive an older 600. I am not going around show boating and everything else, not to mention even hitting the second powerband when i shift, simply because its not needed. When you hear of noobs getting in accidents they are usually just acting like an idiot and ridding irresponsibly. For example my friend has a Ninja 500 and told me that they cruise at 160. See this a 500 that a noob is driving stupidly. It's really all in the driver. Maturity does go a longs ways!
Happy ridding everyone!

Ummm... maturity isn't why most of us recommend a smaller bike. What happens when you swerve around a shredded tire in the road, and accidently pull the throttle and shoot off the road?

I've never heard of a 500 goin 160... are you talking kph? If mph, you're mistaken or it's a crazy 500 souped up sport bike....

These are those sought after sport bikes that noobs seem to find.
Honda:
CBR600F4i - inline 4 (oh hey, no RR. It MUST be a good first bike </sarcasm>)
CBR600RR - inline 4
CBR1000RR - inline 4
RC51 - v twin. And not your semi-docile v twin like in an SV650
Kawasaki:
Ninjas ranging from 600 - 1400. I suck with Kawi models. - inline 4
Suzuki:
GSX-R 600 - inline 4
GSX-R 750 - inline 4
GSX-R 1000 - inline 4
SV1000S - v twin. And not your semi-docile v twin like in an SV650. Though not as extreme as an RC51.
Yamaha
YZF-R6 - inline 4
YZF-R1 - inline 4
YZF600R - inline 4
FZ6 - inline 4
FZ1 - inline 4
I'd have to gander that the safest one there is the FZ6. And i think that's low 90's in HP.
Though the F4i, YZF600R and the FZ6 would be great second bikes.

I think a lot of it comes from the magazines...
if you're not reading message boards or something that's the only other place to get information.
That's where I got a lot of my early info. anyway. (before I started reading these boards.

Because there are alot of airhead girls out there who think the sexy sportbikes are sooooooo manly and must sleep with the owners of them.

If it's mph, his friend isn't driving stupidly, he's just fibbing

In order to mod a 500 twin to do 160 mph, you'd have to spend more on mods than you did for the bike.

Most of the ones I've personally witnessed did not involve noobs acting irresponsibly. They involved basic noob mistakes with applying the throttle and brakes. The 600 sporty will magnify those mistakes, so be careful.

haha if you get a bike just to get laid I think you picked the wrong vehicle.....
Planes are were its at man, become a pilot! Once you say "hey, I'm a pilot" the girls just come outta the woodwork. Unless you go to a school with a bunch of other pilots, then get a bike.
