shouldnt be hard to make a mounting bracket for your head light...and zip ties will make those wires go away...

I hate my bike because it is uncomfrotable for me to ride. The handlebars are just a smidge too far away so my arms get tired. The position is just a little too forward so my clutch hand get sore from the pressure. The seat is too wide and hurts my thighs.
I bought and installed new handle bars that are a little longer and have a little more rise. So that was better. Then I ordered a Corbin seat, it pushes me back to far from the handlebars and reverses all that the new handlebars did. The bowl is a bit too deep so now I am tippy toes on ground. They won't take it back so now I have to sell it.

I feel like it is just not the right bike for me, but any suggestions are much appreciated. I could also order bar risiers, but maybe this just isn't the bike for me.

If its that uncomfortable, Sell it. and do a bit of sit and see on the next bike youre gonna buy. Will save you alot of hasle I would think.

When I bought the bike it came in several boxes. The owner had taken it apart to fix an oil leak and lost interest. I saw the ad and had a long conversation with my mechanic about the potential of the 1992 Yamaha Seca. All agreed that it was a good bike and a good deal, so I bought it. I paid 650 for the bike and all its pieces and spent 600 putting it back together. I am into the bike for less than 1300. The blue book is 1875 and the market value is closer to 2000, so I am not doing too badly and I am just about done complaining about the bike.

I'm loving my seca - Mine is a 92. But I have had it custom painted....kind of like the new Ducati Monster (because I am secretly trusting after that bike -don't tell my seca! .

Anyhow.....I got mine for a project bike -still have a LOT of cosmetics to do to it -mechanically, she's awesome. I am currently looking for a windscreen and can't find an exact fit other than the stock one which is SO ugly -so I have been riding without one. I will use a different model and cut it to fit if I have to! If I can figure out how to post a pic....I will![/img][/img]

Thanks SecaGirl. I recently painted the upper fairing again and it doesn't look too bad. I need to post some pictures.
I also decided to stop complaing about the bike and get on with riding it. I have been out a couple of times this week and it feels better.
Mine was also a project bike, it came in 6 boxes. I had my mechanic put it back together and it runs like a champ. I love the low rumble of the pipes.
I'll get some pictures up soon.

Clip on handlebars would be great for gettting a more comfortable reach on that bike. a new windscreen shouldn't be too much.

If you want, i'll dig up an old copy of Roadbike where they did relatively cheap upgrades to improve the bike greatly giving it new life. Just hope i still have it.

Right now, I am having an issue with finding a windshield...other than the stock one that is on it with the slit opening midway's up? I hate that design -why would they make the windshield like that?! It whistles when you ride -so that came off the day after I got mine and riding without one now. I thought I had found a smoke one on ridegear.com -but it wasn't until a week after I ordered it and called to find out when it would be delivered that they told me it was discontinued.

So....unless anyone can tell me where to get an after market shield that fits a 92, I'm going to have to fabricate it. I have looked at the Yamaha 600r's their windshield is the most similar so I am going to try to cut one to fit. Has anyone else with a seca had to do something similar? Trying to decide what would be the best cutting tools to avoid cracking it. Any suggestions?
