Gratz Ryan. I passed it this weekend as well. And I did it in the worst of conditions.

40 degrees farenheit, constant drizzle, and gusting winds up to 40mph. Yucky. The whole weekend was like this.

Heading out to pay my $8 bucks to get my M tomorrow.

We had 12 in our class. Six were women, six were men. The instructor said our class was above average in proficiency. Too bad 5 of those 12 FAILED the testing to screw up that claim. The rain during my session had a lot to do with it. We got docked if we locked up the tires and a lot of us had dual-sports as bikes with knobby tires. I mean...WTF!!!

The results were somewhat ironic too. Of the women - 5 passed, 1 failed (but barely). Only 2 had experience in riding. The other 4 had none.

Of the 6 men - 4 passed, 2 failed. Four had previous riding experience, 2 never had experience. One of the two men that failed has been driven his fatboy for 3 years. He was in the military and it required that he passes the training in order to ride. The other guy that failed was a elder gentleman that never had experience and was almost dangerous imo. He failed with a 62 (80+ for passing score).

Almost everyone got docked for the figure 8. I passed that portion without any problems and the key for me was 2nd gear, 100% clutch control for speed. First gear was was too grabby and it made me realign to balance the bike. Second gear was a bit faster, but I didn't have to deal with unplanned balancing.

The class was a good learning experience for me. I was totally satisfied with the concise teaching from my instructors. The test is very technical. I'd be surprise to see 60% of those that are licensed and never took the class pass the course. The slow maneuvers were what's the trickiest.
