Since there were no illegals working today, all the Tim Hortons were shut down, as the Canadians were all at home watching Hockey.

This would've been much better if they took a whole 30 days off. One day isn't enough to impact society.

As Wizz stated the problem is with the people who hire these illegals. If those people were punished it would remove the financial incentives to hire them in the first place.

The people and businesses who hire illegals are robbing the tax system. They avoid paying into the US Treasury, social security & medicare systems.

Illegal immigrants aren't stealing jobs, decreasing wages, or taking benefits away from US citizens. It's the people who hire them that are.

We will never see the govt crack down on those who hire them tho. Since its much easier to pick on the less fortunate. (they won't fight back)

This is smoke screen by the govt to keep the real issues America faces out of public debate.

And in case your wondering the courts have already declared that denying illegal immigrants access to public resources such as, schooling & healtcare as unconstitutional.

P.S. Don't make me break out the law research again citing cases.

I work with quite a few mexicans...NONE of them agree with all the imigrants. The illegal workers pose a direct threat to the jobs of the Mexicans who came here legally; and quite frankly, they're pissed off about it. I think there should be an anti-protest for a day....Call it...uhm..."Day with only illegalls"...or something....

Who will make my burrito's at Chipotle? Are the burrito makers legals or illegals? Legal I hope. That could hit me right were it counts. Oh the humanity! I can't live without big burrito's from Chipotle.
A dog had his chain reduced one link at a time, every few days, until his chain was so short he could barely move. He never resisted because he was conditioned to the loss of his freedom slowly, over time. Are we in this country becoming like the dog?

Actually I think it backfired big time around here...

All day yesterday I heard people commenting on how light traffic was, how they got to work 45 minutes early, how clear the freeways were... generally how nice everything was.

Several people were saying variations on (to quote one exactly), "If this is how life would be without illegals, deport them all NOW!"
