I dont buy into the whole "uniform" thing. I dress like a sportbiker when I ride but I ride a UJM, yes I have gotten a few looks from people. My gear consists of a black/blue/white teknic jacket, black KBC fullface, joe rocket jeans and black sportbike style boots which are mostly hidden under the jeans.

In my avatar you can clearly see that I'm wearing too much armor. Underneath is an Icon Field Vest with the hardened back and chest protector. Some people say I look SWAT. That's changed now with the black collared leather jacket with a white HJC fullface and Halo band around it for nighttime reflection.

Safety geek aren't I? I learned my lesson after totalling my GZ250 3 days after buying my it 'cause some drunk punk bashed me clear into a curb.

If someone gives you a hard time just say what my Aunt does.

"I want to leave something for the plastic surgeons to work with." It shuts most people up pretty fast.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

I like that line. I may have to use it sometime.

Jstark has got it right, there are starting to be some like minded people on this forum, UUM, scooter riders too. Methinks Locopez enjoys the ride more than dressing up. Quite right too.
I spent my therapy money an a K1200S
The therapy worked, I got a GS now
A touch of insanity crept back in the shape of an R1200R

I wear my fullface, armored jacket, and gloves just about every time I ride... no matter what I ride! I wore the same thing on my cruiser as on my UJM and my sport bike. You know what? I think I look good on all of them ;)

My armored jacket makes me look like a linebacker. I sometimes throw it and the gloves on when my brother is coming home, then attack him when he is walking up to the door... but that is more because he hits harder than he used to
