Totes? Maybe thats what I mean. I'm thinking just a fabric bag shaped like a boot that you just slip over your shoe and has an elastic band around the opening to hold it on you.

For rain gear to be worth anything to me, I need it to be able to fold up into a small bag.

If you want something "effective", don't go cheap. Nothing worse that that little trickle of water running down your side. Also those cheap suits tend to balloon out on you. So if you don't want to look like a wet Humpty Dumpty, put out a few bucks.

Tour Master Rain Suit, 2 piece, yellow top jacket with elastic sleaves and black pants with elastic waist and leg holes, keeps me dry, even used it running my ATV thru mud and water holes, washed it in the washing machine at least 5 times, still like new, only paid $29.95 for it

I love the set. Not cheap, but I've had mine for 3 years. Whats cool is you can actually pull the pants on OVER your boots (I've done it while standing on the side of the road). There is an extra layer of heavy fabric on the pants from the knee down to keep road debris from wearing through them.

The jacket has a double closure, zipper and velcroed flaps.

I once found a package with a cheap full rain suit in it, same material like those cheap ponchos, with top, pants, and booties...but I cant for the life of me remember where, but they were like $30...maybe I dreamed it.

I want raingear but I want something I can shove in my saddlebag and just throw on over my regular gear (and need booties with the elastic band!) but not worry about how much I spent if it gets stolen out of the bags.

Harley Davidson shops have some booties that are waterproof, fit over your regular boots and go almost to the knee and are only about $30.00 a pair.

I have a pair of those, I only used them once, the heels filled up with water and when I stopped my dry feet were instantly soaked as I stepped into 4 inches of water that had accumulated in them. I still don't know how it happened. *Note* this happened on my first bike the LS650 Savage.

I use my Joe Rocket Alter Ego jacket now, it's basically waterproof, but the outer shell can become water logged. So if I know it's going to be pouring, or I'm going for a long ride I take my First Gear over coat. It's just a cheap waterproof jacket that goes over your riding jacket )bright yellow) it is totally waterproof and only cost me $20 off e-bay.

For my legs I wear my Icon Jeans with some waterproof windbreaker pants over top.

Finally I just wear my normal boots for riding. For some reason the shape of my 599 keeps almost all the water off my feet. I've ridden through HEAVY downpours in just my Alter Ego and waterproof pants. The bottem of my sweater was wet where it stuck out, but other then that nice and dry.

If you pull your pant legs down OVER the booties you should have no troubles. I've got a pair of gators... my toes slip into them, and they stretch around my calf and velcro on. They do the trick to keep water from running into my boots.

Sev, any brand names/types for your specific gear? Sounds like just what I'm looking for <$50 for the set.

Hey BubbaGump, you (your thumbanil) inspired me to ride. I would watch CHiPs everyday after coming home from the daycare center. While there I remember waiting in line one day to ride the ChiPs Power Wheels style motorcycle.
I bought a Reese Dry Rider one piece last month, today was my first time getting wet ever (I didn't have the suit with me).

I think it's Firstgear overgear.

I'm to lazy to pull it outta the closet and unfold everything though. Keep an eye on ebay and something will show up.

Yeah mine came up to midcalf, I velcroed them tight, and pulled rainpants over them. There must have been a leak somewhere, because the heels filled up completely with water and as soon as I put a foot down my feet were soaked.

New bike keeps my feet dry in my regular boots, so it's not an issue.

During a recent 4 hour ride of which 1 hour was spent in rain, I concluded that rain gear is whatever you are wearing when it starts to rain!
