technically the 250 isnt a sport bike. its a standard. and he just doesnt like cruisers because you cant stunt them. (wheelies and whatnot) but the 250 isnt good for that either. J/K but yea, that mileage sounds way off. good luck gettign it figured out.

my 500 manages 45-50 mpg unless im on the highway then it drops to around 42 or so. Definately cheaper to run than my car which gets 27-30

Something is likely wrong with YOUR bike, my hayabusa has a trip computer that tells the mileage also. I've reset it at 100 mph and ridden about 5 minutes constant at that speed and I get 42.4 mpg at 100, 130 it drops down to about 24. Above that I don't feel comfortable resetting the computer with one hand while I ride with the other.

An 800cc getting 28 is awful.

I get 50 to 55 on my 750. I can't see another 50cc dropping THAT much.

Moto, either you are bad at math or something is wrong with your bike. My 1200cc Buell (harley engine) gets 42mpg when I ride it HARD.

Yea my bike is a POS it does run rich and the guys I ride with always want me to ride behind them cause they can't stand breathing the toxic smoke from my exhaust, but no dealer knows how to fix my bike so they tell me thats normal, and my bike is computerized fuel injection and dealers need special programing tools they don't have, or they have the tools are are too stupid to know how to use them. I should have purchaced a bike with carburators, should have known all the motorcycle mechanics around here are dumb stuipid hicks with an 8th grade education.

Tell them it isn't normal and force the lemon law on them so they have to take it back. I wouldn't put up with that crap. Contact Suzuki directly if you have to.

Winning the war on fuel will actually require a 250cc bike. That's just the way it is. Riding my S50 is certainly a joy, but keeping money in my wallet is a job my Rebel does best.
