yea, the duke Monster is probably one of the sexiest bikes ever made. also the 599 is nice looking. (never ridden either)

what about a ninja 250/500. they are both standards and you can rip the farings off em and go naked.

If your looking for someting with comfort and a little power, that won't cripple your old self...check out a Yamaha V-Star 650.
It rides real nice and won't rape your wallet...
Us old guys gotta stick together

Thanks
Just out of curiosity, why doesnt a scooter cut it? especially something like a 650cc burgman or something. I'm unclear on what it lacks that a 650cc standard type bike has, aside from different aestetics.

It's hard for me to put "scooter" and 650 in the same sentence.
Off the top of my head:
1) It rains every day in Hawaii. People drive slow, but lazy. Scoots vs. cagers at every intersection.
2) I'm going to be living in Kailua and traveling into Pearl Harbor every day. Getting over the Pali or across H3 on a 150 scooter (I'm 6'3", 255 lbs) is a non-starter.
3) It's all about the style...I've given up on speed, style's all I got left.
I like the Yamaha (natural inclinication towards them anyway), but what I really want is a slightly smaller version of the Triumph T100.

Thanks

im still confused how aside from style and seating positon, a 650 scooter is inferior to a 650 motorcycle.
i completely understand the aestetics part, but aside from that i dont get it.

I think what he is saying is that he is comparing 150 scooters to motorcycles because he doesn't Believe In 650 scooters.

:dunno:

that makes perfect sense. :frusty:

I understand some people take themselves too seriously to be seen on a scooter, and I can even appreciate that. But it just doesnt make sense when people think they arent capable of the same things motorcycles are.
But yea, just like you dont compare a 50cc motorcycle to a 1200cc motorcycle, you dont compare 150cc scooters to 650cc motorcycles.

I just want him to admit he hates to look of scooters and doesnt want to be seen on one :)
