On the lighter side...as the price of gas goes up, more and more people are turning to motorcycles for transportation. That means fewer cages to have to defend against. We see more bikers out on the road and everyone is starting to smile at each other again. win-win

Its something along those lines. I work with a guy who used to own a gas station. He explained the pricing procedure to me once before. I'll have to ask him again to make sure I'm correct.

$3.23 for regular, $3.50 for diesel. Was $3.10 and $3.28 day before yesterday.

If it's true that station owners don't set their own prices then how come 2 gas stations of the same company within 4 blocks of each other have different prices?

One of the people I work with at the mine used to own a Gas bar/resteraunt. He told me on average the owner of the gas station makes about 3 to 5 cents a litre. the thing they make the money on, is coffee... costs 9 cents to make a cup and they charge a buck.

I wouldnt imagine the stations make much in their gas at all. They need it to get people in the door. Where does all the profit in gas go? The oil corportations of course.

High prices are a PITA but you know what would pi$$ me off more...gas lines
and even higher prices....those days are not far off if the statements in the URL'd article are even close to the truth on "Peak Oil"...
