I have a set of Fieldsheer Samurai gloves for my warm (above 40 F) riding gear:



Nothing too extravagent, but it does have faux-carbon fiber knuckle protectors, double-stiching and an extra layer of leather on the palm. The gauntlet part of the glov comes up just enough to prevent bugs/bees from sneaking in and not long enough to look like the gloves are eating my arms.

For those cold winter days, I wear my Teknics that I recieved as a gift from a close friend...



Then when it starts to warm up a bit, I switch to my trusty "Watson" gauntlets...



Now I have recently bought a pair of summer weight gloves by ICON, in black...

I have a good pair of polaris motorcross gloves that I use. They work great on the dirt and off. But I am looking for a good pair of leathers to wear just in case.

Alot of the long "extravagant" gauntlet style gloves do have alot of functions, but for many you'll see more benefits on the racetrack than on the street.

I do suggest gauntlet style gloves because as said stuff can still fly up your sleve (it's a small target but it does happen).

i wear some $60 frank thomas gloves that have the knuckle guard, and louvers on the fingers for air flow.
they may be overkill for the riding i do, but several bikers told me that protecting your hands is not where you want to try and save a little money. but i may buy another pair because when i ride the thumb is a little loose and makes it hard to hit my signal switch.

they also look cool and if i ever have to open a can of whoop-"O Ring" becasue someone touched my bike. it will protect my knuckles as stated in another post.

i wear normal length leather motorcycle gloves with vents in the ends of the fingers, and extra padding on the knuckles and some other areas, in the summer time.

in the winter i have some leather guantlet style gloves with more padding that keep my quite warm.


that said, this past weekend i drove about 400 miles, and i still got a blister on my throttle hand through the leather gloves!
