Congratulations. If you want some advice on getting that first bike, go here:
www.CaliforniaBikeNights.com/learn

You did well by taking the MSF first. That's a smart thing to do. But there are a lot of steps that remain before you get out there on the road. That link should help you quite a bit in figuring out what to do next and has a lot of good advice on the types of motorcycle to consider as a beginner.

During my MSF, our class was split with 6 female and 6 males as well. As of late (within the last 3-4 years), there's been a huge escalation of women taking the course. I've spoken to a few of my co-workers who have attended the course and many had more women then men.

I think the jump is a huge reflection of our American culture - which I think is wonderful!

The SUV wielding local yahoos on 25 are bad enough, texas can keep their yahoos.

congrats on passing the MSF angry.

One of the few females in my 4x4 club has a bumper sticker on her Cruiser:
"Californians go home, and take a Texan with you"! No offense to you Cali and Texas folks!

Thanks!

i think anyone who has lived in CO has seen all the Texans in the ditch the first time a decent snow hits...there may be just as many Colorado folks in there, but the Texans you remember for some reason.

i think every state/province has a good natured ribbing with their neighbours, like the old joke "Did you hear about the new <home state> zoo? they put a fence around <neighbouring state>."

I have seen quite a few SUVs wheels up in the ditch with Texas or Cali plates on em on I-25 after a good snow. Of course there are just as many with the familiar green and white plates.

Colorado has some great riding roads though, if you love twisty roads colorado is heaven
