the rise in the price of oil from O.P.E.C. nations is payback for our invasion of muslim Iraq.pure and simple.they have got all the oil we have got all the food.raise the price of exported foodstuff to match the oil prices--after enough of them ragheads starve the price will go down.

I never try to figure in the differences in our dollars but gas here in Ont. went up to $.91/liter or $3.46/gallon....and they say it's going up over a dollar a liter by summer!! Why do we keep giving free food and medical supplies to the oil producing countries?

So Okay. Let's look at it from the perspective of a $7.00 per hour worker. That still means that a gallon of gas (as per my former example) still only costs him/her 55% of an hours wages. Somewhat less than 70% wouldn't you say? So I'm not sure what your point is 9000?

I don't like it any more than anyone else does. Don't expect to see much change in the way people drive or do business. All I am doing in pointing out that it has been worse than it is currently. There are many things I could complain about regarding the price of gas or anything. Don't think for a moment that it doesn't "pee" me off to see how our politicians rape us (the complacent Canadian public) after all we have some of the largest oil reserves in the world yet here we are paying $3.85 a US gallon for gas and selling it across the border cheap enough that the US citizen can buy it for $2.50 for a similar gallon.

Then of course we export our raw logs to the south .............I could go on and on.

Only in Canada..................... That's why they take our guns away...... If ever the public decided to revolt against our own arrogant government........

Back then and up till the early 70's, our dollar was worth more than yours. Then our politicians figured that out and put a stop to it right quick.

Hopefully enough people will stop b1tching for enough time to come up w/ some better forms of alternative transport.

I haven't really noticed any less travel. Weekends still bring the motorhomes and trailers pulled by 1-ton pickups. The locals still seem to drive around all day in their old gas-hog heaps. We in America are alleged to have overwhelming debt with bankruptcies going through the roof, but people are still spending like there's no tomorrow. It is not uncommon down here to see a brand new Nissan Titan or the like in front of a hovel with a tarp and a bunch of old tires on the roof to keep the rain out.
With mentality like that, I guess it's silly to think people will flinch over $3 gas.
Maybe I should look into a sidecar for the Yamaha.......

the reason nothing is being done to find alternative fuels and cheaper transportation is because our highly esteemed elected officials dont pay for their fuel.or their medical care,dont pay taxes.if you add all this up plus what they steal why should the price of anything be of concern to them??

Looks good on e-paper. Maybe a wave of the future. If they ever have a breakthrough in battery technology, things will change fast.

That was minimum wage plus part time job back then. So the option was job at that price or no job.
