I use a joe rocket and I'm happy with it for three seasons. That said, i've never used any other brand

I've just heard rumors that JR's stitching isn't very good and that the seams will come apart in a crash. I don't know if there's any validity to the claims though but I have heard it from more than 1 person.

Heard only great things about Rev'It...a little pricey, (out of your stated range) but they make great stuff. Try on and you'll see why. Next on my list.

I have a pretty nice mesh jacket made by vanson leathers.
mine is all black however. It has good armor.
