I was being sarcastic actually, coming from the land of Vespas !

People use scooters as on-highway transportation here - they are definitely NOT a lux item!

I take it you mean maxi-scooters right?

Because normal ones certainly can't keep up on the highways.

Anything over 150cc is permitted on the Highways in Italy

And they don't enforce speed limits in southern Italy.

But Somehow those people manage to keep up. :humm:

What the hell is a "maxi-scooter" anyway? Must be a murrican term. Here if it's got 2 wheels, it's just a moto.

There is no need for a larger engine. My 700cc cruiser gets up over 100mph easy, and there isn't any practical use for speed like that. But if they can make a bigger engine, faster bike, people will buy it instead. That's just how it is.

OK, so according to that website, a Maxi Scooter is an all electric scooter which can get up to 100kph and can travel 110km before recharging. Thanks for clearing that up for me

What I was getting at is they are all motorcycles - People here compare a 250 scooter to a 600cc sportbike without blinking an eye. There's no distinction. Some people could benefit from similar thinking.

You are welcome...

I think he was really talking about these sorts of things... but that site was the first to come up on a google search.
