Well, it's gonna kill you when I tell you the BRP (around mile-marker 385 or so) is not more than 2.2 miles from my driveway! Hey... it's tough, but sumbody's gotta live here.

Hey, Grunt... what part of Ol' Virginny is home to you? I'd guess somewhere near the mountains, considering your choice of bikes. That SV is supposed to be a hoot in the twisties!

Newbie here in Raleigh. Just got my first bike at [gasp] 36! Never rode before. The wife got a bike, and I couldn't stay off it.

Recently got an '86 Kawa 454 Ltd (Sweet looking Vulcan 500 above, BTW).

Just took the MSF Basic Rider Course at Alamance CC. A lot of fun wearing out a Nighthawk that's never seen third gear

I occasionally get to Scooter's (on Atlantic in Raleigh), but my bike is a bit too small, and a bit too Japanese for the crowd - Actually, it is a cool place. No one laughed at my bike - at least, not until after I left

Safety-Boy is the nickname my wife gave me, because I loved the icon reflective vest. The more people tell me how nerdly it is, the more I wear it!

We have a European Bike Night each 2nd Tuesday of the month in Charlotte, NC at Macs Speed Shop on South Blvd. Come out and see the Triumphs, Ducs, Beemers and all. We have even had a few scooters show up - could turn into a "Mods vs. Rockers" kinda thing....

Great! I attended WCU there. Of course, that was back before recorded history. PCs, CDs, etc. hadn't been thunk up yet!

I usually get the chance to tour around Jackson County a couple times a year - some great roads out that way.

You a Catamount, too, by any chance?

LOL - I am a Catamount too - class of '85. I guess there is some affinity between that place and a love of motorcycling...

Snowing (slightly) on Monday morning in Raleigh, riding in a t-shirt on Tuesday... Soaked to the bone on Wednesday.

I have not done Deal's Gap yet. From what I hear, it is a real workout. One of my MSF instructors said, "no matter what gear you are in, it is the wrong one."

I have heard weekdays are unofficially for cruisers, and weekends are for sport bikes - I imagine mixing the two can be troublesome!

I used to live near Nashville - between Greenbrier and Springfield (HWY41, North of Goodlettesville (sp?)). Did not ride when I was there, but remember the roads. Probably a lot of fun to ride.
