You can go to your dealer and ask them about it but be prepared for some eye rolling. Yamaha does Goodwill sometimes, which is like a "Get Out Of Jail Free" card. It is a one time use deal.
For example, a customer will have burned out his clutch while still in warranty. This is not a defect, clearly customer abuse or misuse. Yamaha does a Goodwill, usually paying for the parts and having the customer pay for labour. Yamaha stresses to us that if they opt for this, it is a one-time deal. Next time it will be the customers responsibility. And if something else non-warranty happens, too bad.
I guess it also has to do with the repoir the dealer has with Yamaha. We have been able to help many customers out of jams like this. Of course being a tech, I hate it. Warranty pays dodo.

Thank you everyone for your advice, as I am not new to the motorcycle world in any way shape or form I do appreciate all of the input you all have given. I understand what you all are saying but you have to understand that if it was your bike you would be concerned also since the bike is 4 days old. Living in Florida you learn to deal with these love bugs but one would never expect for them to damage the paint in such a short period of time. All I was truly asking is to whether or not it could be an issue with the paint on that particular piece. Thanks again for the response.
