Pick up the car the next day? Why?

Last time I purchased a new car I called the dealerrship and asked them for the VIN of a car that was the model/configuration I wanted. Then I bought insurance for that VIN (without owning it) and had the insurance co fax me the paperwork. I drove down to the dealership, arriving at 7:30PM, bought the car, and drove it home.

Time before that we picked out the car, signed the paperwork for a "net 24 hour" payment contract (where payment was due in full within 24 hours), they gave us the keys, and we drove the car over to the credit union, got a cashier's check, drove the check back to the dealership and dropped it off...the insurance was all grace period of what we already had on another vehicle. We called the insurance company the next day and got it added to the policy.

Dunno if they have this were you live, but try to find an insurance broker. They will shop around for the best price for you.

Thats what I used here in Conn. Whats funny is he set me up with progressive and the price was lower than what I could get from progressive myself. I have no clue how thats even possible, but thats how it worked out.

BTW, this was for a bike.
