Best way to go is to just ride! plan a weekend trip or something. Ride 4 hours to visit someone and ride back.

Now if this "procreating" rain breaks, i may need my 600 mile done this friday. 350 miles, 4 days of riding :naughty:. one of which was just a too and home from work (20 miles tops).

a Maniac, huh? I have family all over, mostly in Houlton, Bangor, and a little in Bar Harbor.

I go up there now and then, tho I am thinking of at least bringing my soon to be bike up there in a year or so to ride :)

augusta area is boring as hell for riding. all the roads are straight. Sure, for cruising the roads are great, but my Ninja wants to stretch her legs.

you havent had a bike for, what a month? you just got one, and you expect to be making progress in a canyon within days? not gonna happen. just keep riding canyons, different ones, at your pace, taking it slow and making sure you arnt riding outside of your limits, in time you will improve your ability, but its not gonna happen in a week

Ride JWF's goat for a couple of days and you'll be AMAZED at how much better you'll be riding Suzy Q.
Familiarity breeds contempt.
