Hmmm true. I thought the one I sat on was just one of the different color schemes.
 It's had to see a kawi that's not green after being arond them 5 years.
though I was looking at a red ninja 750. thank you for correcting me. guess I'll need a new helemt anyways. maybe I'll step up to a nice one

Re: I'm ready to move up from the 250, but to what?

ah right, other forum members had given me the impression that 2 strokes were illegal for road use in the states.

Got to admit I know a very experienced rider who runs an RS125 (he can't be doing with earning his licence back again) and he is pretty much uncatchable.

Im suprised nobody has mentioned the SV650 yet. That would be an excellent move up from a 250. Its even a pretty good jump up from a 500.

The YZF600 and FZ6 wouldn't be too bad a jump either.

I started on a 500 and just moved up to a 600 bandit which is akin to an SV650 in the power department (I have ridden an SV as well and the bandit and SV are pretty close in performance). This was about a perfect jump in power for me with the bandit also being my first 4 cylinder bike (my old 500 was a v twin).

How about a Honda F4i? It's Honda's race-rep bike from about 5 years ago, so it's not as extreme as the current crop of 600 sportbikes.

I rode a 500ex for a year before getting an F4i and it's pretty easy to ride if you have the willpower to stay below about 8k RPM.

I would be down for a F4i. my friend had one in highschool an loved it. but one thing nice about the yamaha is it's $1400 less. with that kind of money i could get a arai helmet, frame sliders, and a jacket.

but now you really got me thinking about it! I guess I'll have to go down to the dealer today and sit on one
