Lucky that wasn't a fuul grown dear. That video would have had totally different bacground music.

I'm really suprised a motorcyclist hitting a deer like that didnt end up with the biker seperated from his bike, especially considering he was just coming out from a turn.

lucky kid...damage to the bike must have been pretty costly...insurance?

Yeah, deer are as common as raccons in the north east. I think NY state should have an unlimited baseball bat season on deer.

And full grown deer are frickin' dangerous. Larry Grodsky just got killed in a collision with a deer, while on his way back from an MSF conference of all ironies.

Maybe riders out in the country should mount those things they put on locomotives to scoop bison out of the way.

In the upper Great Lakes area around upper Michigan, it's insane how many deer there are. About the most dangerous time is around early evening when they start roaming onto the roads where they feed off vegetation that's nicely trimmed by the local hwy. deparment.

I've hit a full grown buck with my 87 Civic once. Its head crashed through my windshield with its antlers stopping inches from my chest. Car was totalled and the buck died. I called the highway patrol, declared it dead, and the patrol officer asked me if I wanted it. I said "hell yeah!" He loaded it onto the back of his Suburban, gave me a ride home, and I unloaded the buck at my Dad's butcher shop. Had about 80 pounds of edible meat after that swipe. My car was totalled. Not exactly fair compensation, but at least I got something out of it.

And yeah, deer is very lean. It's unlike anything store bought. Has a very wild game taste to it. Jerky and sausage is best with any game.

Jerky and sausage, that's the faves in our house for deer. Good good stuff. Since I cannot hunt here, dad taunts me with his 'got another doe' during the last couple of seasons. Not cool, but he does save me jerky when I come visit.

First off, considering that deer hunting for me consists of just driving my car - three deer in five years - I would initially think that the rider was extremely lucky to have a life to talk about, let alone a bike. Lucky - period! My guess is the deer did not make it, judging from the spin it took. BTW - the best meat is that which has already been tenderized a.k.a. pulverized. Happy venison feast!!

I hit a deer last thusday... I didnt keep it, as I ran over the hind quarter where the good meat is, and I was traveling down to Ottawa for a few days and didnt have anywhere to hang it and was driving my new SUV with no where to put it anyways. If I had my pickup, I probably woul;d have thrown it in the back and dealt with it as I needed to.

The meat looked pretty, ummm, tenderized (re purple) and the deer was alive for around 50 minutes before the cops came and shot it. so it wouldnt have tasted too good anyways, although I porobably could have gotten some sausage.

It was last years buck, and didnt do much damage luckily.
